As I’m sure you can already see, our new site is up and functional. It runs faster than ever, is incredibly small, and very easy to manage.
“But webmaster, where is the download section?”
I’m in the process of recoding the download section for the programs, music, and LAN party clips. I’m not sure when that will all be up, but the good stuff is all here.
Spread the word about our site, and enjoy!

It has come to my attention once again that I lack a comic for this Tuesday. For the same reason as last week, I haven’t been able to find the time. Every spare moment I have is spent on either homework or coding the new page. I hope to be able to maintain my promise and have the new page up by the end of the month.

Some updates:

For Thursday, there will be no comic. I honestly didn’t have time to make it with all the work I’ve been doing on the new site. Not to give you the wrong impression that I don’t have any ideas. Question my friends; I have a gargantuan backlog of ideas in a text file waiting to be put into graphics. All I need is time, of which I am rather lacking at the moment.

The Site: The new site is coming along well. I figured I can’t contain everything until the release. The new page will be working off of MySQL instead of a file system, like that of this current page. It is coded in PHP. The entire page is self contained, giving you, the user, faster response times and less load times. It features a better organized browsing system, which will be displayed upon release.

The Forum: The forum will soon be unlinked for an undisclosed amount of time until I figure out how best to incorporate it into our new layout.

I’m working as fast as I physically can. However, I’m facing off to both social and physical stressors right now, as the band season has begun. School starts for our area on the Tuesday after Labor Day. It is my intention to get the new site up before the end off this month.

Until then, hang tight, and in a gun shell, enjoy life.

It appears as though summer is coming to a close for everyone. There have been no big releases within the last couple of weeks, hence the lack of updates. I’ve also been busy, finishing summer assignments and working on the comics. However, the site is in the process of being completely redesigned. The renders section is going to be more menu based, making it easier to manage and view. There is going to be a portal, consisting of different directions on the site you can go to (namely, the Comics section and the Forum). It will also be more efficient, using MySQL as opposed to file systems.

Until then, hang tight, and if it’s still with you, enjoy your summer!

As I’m sure everyone has noticed, there have been some major changes to the site. The front page now uses a news management system I coded myself. Everyone is able to leave comments on any of the news posts. The guestbook has been removed from the site.
I’m going to continue to do work on this news system. I hope to add the same comment system for the comics as well. I’m going to try and get a better administrative system up for myself as well.
If someone is interested in implementing this system into their own site (I don’t see why you would, as there are far more elaborate version out there), I’m willing to work to implement it.

As for other aspects of the site, I got in contact with one of the people from the team who has since moved to Hong Kong. There’s a new comic out (Number 8) as well. Enjoy!

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been doing some major fixing up of the PHP code on the site. We’ve corrected some major security vulnerabilities. We most likely will be dropping our guestbook soon, as it gets relatively no use. If you haven’t checked recently, there are currently 6 comics up. Go and check them out (banner ad above)!

As of this time this morning, the entire site has been converted to PHP. This will make updating easier than ever. I’m also considering adding in cutePHP to help news updating. I’ve been out of contact with everyone quite a bit, and many of our plans for this summer haven’t exactly come out as planned. To everyone out there: please keep visiting us, and if you enjoy what you see, support our forums. Make sure to check out our comic strip as well!

It seems that my never ending travels have, this time, led me to Texas. Because I’m leaving to catch my flight at 3:30 AM tomorrow and will be out of range of internet for the remainder of the week, there will be no comic this coming Thursday. If anyone else will be at the Lutheran Youth Gathering in San Antonio, drop me one and possibly we can catch up. Until then, keep cool.

So after spending nearly 12 combined hours in different airports, I’m finally home.

Being away, I didn’t talk to the team a ton, as I was out of range of any internet. The only available connection cost 75 cents a minute. My sniffer wasn’t getting any good packets from people, and saying I’m too cheap to pay for something like that, I never connected.

Anyway, I’ve been hard at work at two other sites. Halo Revelation is a group working to recreate and improve upon animations and demo videos that large companies, such as Bungie, ID Software, UbiSoft, and others, create. They’re current project is recreating the Halo 3 trailer Bungie released in E3 2006. I’ll provide a URL as soon as they’re online.

The other site is for a locally based computer maintenance group my friends and I are working on. We figured that the Geek Squad is ridiculously overpriced, so we’re working to give the Fredericksburg area a cheaper source of computer help.

A little extra something my cousin and I are planning on adding to the current AJAMA site is a comic strip. We’ve thrown a couple ideas together, and may take it for a test drive.

I suppose that’s about it for this week. Continue to have a good summer.
